POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- John “Way” McCormick, of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, Dec. 25. He was 64.
He was born Dec. 19, 1951 in Poughkeepsie, to the late John L. McCormick and Muriel Haines. Haines survives in Poughkeepsie.
He graduated from Arlington High School in 1970. He married Elizabeth Cattuzzo July 16, 1977, at Arlington Reformed Church. Together they spent 38 years in Poughkeepsie raising their family. He worked at Vassar College for 22 years.
He was a music producer and owned his own music engineering company, the Independent Production Studio.
He is survived by his wife Beth; mother Muriel; daughter Clancie and her husband Clayton Tyger; son Sean and his girlfriend Joanna Karlitz; cousins Edmund Kardas and Jolene Wahlgren; sister-in-law, Nancy Perusse and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father John; and sister-in-law Theresa Hultberg.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
