He was born Nov. 4, 1929 in Easton, Pa., the son of Justin Wanck Foster and Jacqueline Stanley Bevan Foster.
He attended schools in Easton and graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in mining engineering. He was employed as a plant manager for NY TrapRock , LoneStar Industries in Hamburg for many years.
He enjoyed golfing, tennis and watching the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a former member of the Dutchess Golf & Country Club and past president of McCann-Caven Memorial Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Olsen; children, John (Jack) C. Foster Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Elizabeth Foster Norton, Mary Foster Fleckenstein and Nancy Foster Kovacs and husband Joseph; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene Sparta and Susan Willett.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne Foster Dyer; and a sister, Ann Corey.
