POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- John A. Zipser Jr., a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, Jan. 21. He was 87.
He attended New York University and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an underwriter for Equitable Life Insurance Co.
He is survived by his wife, Muriel; with his, son and daughter-in-law, Peter J. and Carrie Zipser Sr., of LaGrange; and his grandchildren, Peter J. Zipser Jr. "PJ", Andrew J. Zipser and Matthew J. Zipser, all of LaGrange; his sister, Marion Griffing of St. Augustine, Fla.; and his brother, Victor Zipser of Scottsdale, Ariz.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara Zipser, on Feb. 6, 1979.A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at the Pine Lawn Cemetery in Long Island.
