Joan Wilsey Lowe, 77, LaGrange

LAGRANGE, N.Y. -- Joan Wilsey Lowe, 77, of LaGrange died on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Born in Poughkeepsie on Feb. 26, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Agnes "Kay" Mitchell Wilsey. She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. She attended St. Stanislaus Church in Pleasant Valley.

Lowe worked for a time at DeLaval Separator Co. and Traver Road Elementary School. Most recently, she was a File Clerk for the law firm of McCabe & Mack in Poughkeepsie until her retirement in 1998.

In 1984, she married Marvin Lowe, who survives at home. She is also survived by: her daughter Kim Sudduth and husband, Gregg of Cumming, Ga.; four step-children, Karen Rasmussen and husband, Robert of Goode, Va; Janice Hendricks and husband, Louis, of Hyde Park; John Kane and wife, Kim of Clinton Corners; and Jim Kane and wife, Julie, of Chester, Va; two grandchildren, Brayden and Jordan Sudduth; eight step-grandchildren, Lucy, Colin, and Emma Hendricks, Mara and Chris Kane, and Jacqui, Austin, and Chelsea Kane; two brothers, Clyde Heermance and wife Barbara of Hyde Park, and Douglas Wilsey of Fishkill; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9 in Hyde Park. A Celebration of her life will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 5 at the funeral home. Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie. In lieu of flowers, her family respectfully requests memorial donations to be made to the Hospice Foundation, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeeepsie, NY 12601.
