POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Joan Bocchino Pfeifer, of Poughkeepsie, died on Dec. 5. She was 56.
Born in Poughkeepsie, on Dec. 21, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Betty Bocchino. She has lived in New Jersey for the past 3 years, there she loved swimming in the ocean, walking on the beach, and feeding the seagulls. She also enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, and reading, as well as being a member of a book club. She was a free spirited, and loving woman who knew how to provide light to any day. She lived her life to the fullest, keeping herself busy and others entertained along the way.
She is survived by her children, Garrett Pfeifer, Taylor Pfeifer; and long time companion, Michael Oliksowycz; 4 sisters, Lynne Keating, Kathleen Schnoor, Lorianne Mann, and Betty-jo Bocchino; 3 brothers, Terry, Victor, and Christopher Bocchino. She was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony, and Joseph Bocchino.
Visitation will be held 2 - 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc.
