POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Jerome V. (Jerry) Guido, of Poughkeepsie, died on Dec. 15. He was 76.

He was the son of Gabriel Guido and Hazel Davis, both deceased. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and Poughkeepsie High School, Class of 1958. He was a salesman most of his career, worked at IBM and was a licensed security guard for Marist and Vassar Colleges until his retirement. He also owned his own business for three years. He was a proud member of the NRA.

On Oct. 1, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Roseann Gimmaro. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year.

For many years he was a member of a local men's organization where he was an active volunteer, Events and Entertainment Chairman and Vice President. During those years, he initiated several new and innovative projects which are still in effect today. He loved all sports and played during his younger years. In later years, he enjoyed and played golf with friends. He proudly supported all Boston teams.

He also had a home in Bolton Landing on Lake George and enjoyed taking his Sting Ray boat on the lake. He was an avid racing fan and frequented Saratoga during the season. He was very thankful to God for a good life.

He is survived by his wife, Roseann Gimmaro; daughter, Lisa Guido Domber and husband Michael Domber; granddaughters, Jenna Domber Goodman (Aaron) and Rachel Domber Rodkin (Adam); great-grandchildren, Shayna and Izzy Goodman and Zeke and Ayda Rodkin; and brother, Ronald Guido.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, from 4-8 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Mass is Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church and burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
