WAPPINGERS FALL, N.Y. -- Jean Ruth Catalano, a lifelong resident of Wappingers Falls, died Thursday, April 28. She was 85.

Born Jan.8, 1931, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late William and Millie Weber.

She had been employed as a bookkeeper for ShopRite in Wappingers Falls for more than 25 years until her retirement. During her retirement, she was the manager of the Lil’ Darling Shoppe in Wappingers Falls for 18 years.

She is survived by her husband James Catalano; her daughters, Carol Bennett of Hopewell Junction, Debra Raguseo and her husband Michael of Poughkeepsie, Kim Catalano and her partner Mary Medico of Wappingers Falls and Terri Hale of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren and their spouses, Dana Bennett and Jessica Winship, Deirdre and Matthew Collin, James and Mandy DeGeorge, Michael and Megan Raguseo, Dominick and Ashley Quitoni, Christopher and Ashley Cuadrado, Bradley and Nicole Cuadrado, Jenna Corbin, Robert Wilson, and Dylan Hale; her 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Paula McComb; her sister-in-law, Alice Weber; her extended family, Joan Dominicus and her family, Mary Ellen Alexander and her family, and Diane Tedesco; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, William, Sally, Jack, Lewis, Catherine and her twin Joan.

Calling hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
