Jane Quattrochi, 65, Of Poughkeepsie Dies Days After Husband Charles, 66

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Jane Quattrochi, a Poughkeepsie resident and beauty parlor owner, died Thursday, March 2, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 65.

Her husband, Charles, had died less than a week before, also at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, on Friday, Feb. 24. He was 66.

Jane Quattrochi operated the Shear Success and Beauty Parlor in Highland for more than two decades.

She was born in Yonkers to the late William F. and Evelyn (Gallagher) Young.

She was a 1969 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers and a member of Holy Trinity Church.

The loving grandmother’s hobbies including cooking, gardening and playing cards, her family said.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa, of Poughkeepsie; a grandson, Gianni Franchesco of Poughkeepsie; sister-in-law Mary Quattrochi of Dover Plains; several nieces and nephews; many cousins; and lifelong friends.

She was also predeceased by her son, Steven; a sister, Ellen Young Buffone; a brother, Guy McCarthy; and brother In-law, Raymond Quattrochi.

Charles Quattrochi was born in Pelham Manor to the late Joseph Connor and Ursula Alterio.

He and Jane Young were married in 1972 at St. Denis Church in Yonkers.

He was employed at First National Supermarket in Yonkers as a butcher.

He was a member of the Pirates Canoe Club and attended Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie.

A memorial service for Charles Quattrochi was held on Wednesday, March 1, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home in Poughkeepsie, where visiting hours and funeral services have now been set for his late widow.

Calling hours for Jane Quattrochi are 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.

Funeral services will be held 7:30 p.m. during the calling hours.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
