Harriet B. Chapman, 71, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Harriet B. Chapman, a longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, Feb. 24. She was 71.

She retired from IBM in Poughkeepsie as an assembler on the board line. She also was a director of the IBM Country Club for a time.

She is survived by her children, Denny Curtis and wife Darlene of Pleasant Valley, Tami Marie Curtis of Poughkeepsie and Shawn Curtis of Poughkeepsie; Samuel Robertucci of Poughkeepsie; a stepdaughter, Michelle Robertucci Haag of Albany; her grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Curtis, Kenneth Craig Curtis, Shawn Mark Curtis Jr., Ashley Marie Curtis, Gavin Kenneth Shanahan and Sadi Elizabeth Shanahan; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Rose Curtis; two sisters, Charlotte Moegel of Oviedo, Fla., and Sarah Brennie and husband, Anthony, of Highland; three brothers, James Chapman, and wife, Sharon, of Pleasant Valley, David Chapman and wife, Bonnie, of Highland, and Richard Chapman and wife, Cheryl, of Pleasant Valley.

She was predeceased by her son Kenneth Craig Curtis.

Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Sweet's Funeral Home Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Holy Trinity RC Church, 775 Main St., Poughkeepsie.

Burial will follow in the family plot at Union Cemetery in Hyde Park.
