WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Gladys C. Ruit, of Wappingers Falls, died on Wednesday, Dec. 7. She was 90.
Daughter of the late George and Mary Rolleston Laux, she was born on June 17, 1926 in Yonkers; she grew up and attended schools in Riverdale. She married Robert I. Ruit on January 12, 1946 in Riverdale. Mr. Ruit survives at home in Wappingers Falls. She worked as Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Wappinger for 27 years, until her retirement.
In addition to her husband, Robert, survivors include her sons, Robert Ruit and his wife, Gail, George Ruit and his wife, Maryann, and Thomas Ruit; 3 granddaughters; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Ronald (Skip); two grandsons; and her sister, Doris.
