Thorne was born April 22, 1947, in Norfolk.
He was the owner and operator of Serenity Electronics in Poughkeepsie.
An avid golfer, he enjoyed visiting casinos and collecting sports memorabilia. He also was a fan of Jackie Gleason and Mickey Mantle.
He is survived by his wife Ulrike and son Ryan.
He was predeceased by his daughter Nicole and his brother Greg.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main St., Fishkill, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA.
