Frank Donald Welch, 82, Of Hopewell Junction

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. -- Frank Donald Welch, 82, a resident of Spring Hill, Fla. and formerly of Hopewell Junction and Port Jefferson Station died Monday, Nov. 30.

Born Aug. 29, 1933, in Brooklyn, he was the youngest of 14 children of Arthur and Delia Malloy Welch. 

He proudly served our country as a 3rd Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and was employed as a High Purity Gas Instructor/Installer at IBM in East Fishkill. 

He was a parishioner of St. Theresa's RC Church, Spring Hill, Fla and St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction; a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary’s Council, Fishkill; and St. Jude Council, Spring Hill, Fla; and VFW Post #10209, Spring Hill.

Frank married Margaret Hinke April 27, 1957 at St. Andrew’s Church in Flushing; she surives him. He also is survived by their children, Peggy Welch of Apalachin; Carol Impellizeri and her husband Mario of Oakland, Fla; and Doug Welch and his wife Kathy of Wappingers Falls; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be offered Saturday at St. Theresa’s in Spring Hill, Fla. Interment will be at St. Denis Cemetery in Hopewell Junction in April.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
