Erik B. Wagner, 68, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Erik B. Wagner, a Poughkeepsie resident, died Nov. 19, after a four-year battle against cancer. He was 68. 

Wagner was born March 7, 1947, in Poughkeepsie, the son of Walter W. and Dorothy Bennett Wagner. He was a 1965 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and later received his associate's degree from Dutchess Community College. 

He began his career working at M. Schwartz & Co. during his high school years eventually serving as the vice president and comptroller for many years. After the store’s closing in 1991, he became the owner of Brady’s Publick house, formerly on Garden Street in Poughkeepsie. He most recently was the owner of MJ Lumber and provided accounting services for local businesses.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Bruce W. Wagner and Jon J. Wagner; and sister-in-law Valeda J. Wagner;

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Ham Wagner; sister-in-law, Melissa K. Wagner; daughter and son-in-law, Kristine and Chris Davis of Poughkeepsie; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Annette Wagner of Poughkeepsie; son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Traci Meyer of La Grange; grandchildren, Evan, Myles, Noah Davis, Stephanie Wagner, Brendan, and Kyra Meyer; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie with the Rev. Katherine Alonge-Coons officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
