POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Elizabeth Russell, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Monday, June 27. She was 76.

Born July 10, 1939, in Beacon, she was the daughter of the late John J. and the late Elizabeth (Senchack) Antalek.

She married James E. Russell Sept. 2, 1961, at St. John's Catholic Church in Beacon.

She was a local resident all her life. She was a graduate of Beacon High School and also a graduate of the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by St. Francis Hospital Poughkeepsie for 54 years. For 30 years, she was a registered post anesthesia care nurse.

She also was a member of St. Martin dePorres Church and the St. Francis School of Nursing Alumni Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Russell of Poughkeepsie and Elizabeth Ann Russell of Poughkeepsie; two sons, James J. Russell of Poughkeepsie and John D. Russell and his wife Paula Russell of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren, James C. Russell and his wife Caileigh of Staatsburg, Curtis J. Russell and his wife Katlyn of California, Timothy M. Russell of Highland and Victoria R. Russell of Poughkeepsie; great-grandsons Joshua and Brentley; sisters, Eileen Shea of Hyde Park, Rose Farrell of Beacon and Marie Smith of Fishkill; brothers, James Antalek and his wife Fay of Stuyvesant, Andy Antalek of Beacon and Robert Antalek and his wife Michelle of Beacon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband James.

Calling hours will be from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Martin DePorres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie. Burial to follow at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie.
