Elaine Hogan Crosby Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Elaine Hogan Crosby, of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, Aug. 25.

She was born in Augusta, Ga. and graduated from the Academy of Richmond County and the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Education. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.

After moving to New York, she became a member of the Poughkeepsie Branch of American Association of University Women, the Mid Hudson Alumnae Panhellenic and New Hackensack Reformed Church. She retired as a library media specialist at Fishkill Elementary School.

Surviving family members include her daughter, Celeste E. Crosby (Gary) of Katonah; brother, Spurgeon G. Hogan (Barbara) of Hillsborough, N.J.; and four grandchildren, Bobby Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Campbell McKendry and Hunter McKendry.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at New Hackensack Reformed Church, 1580 Route 376, Wappingers Falls. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one's choice.
