Dutchess Native Corey Fitzgerald Dies At 33

Dutchess native Corey James Fitzgerald died unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov.11 at his home in Balch Springs, Texas. He was 33.

Born on September 14, 1984 in Rhinebeck, he was the son of James Fitzgerald and Donna Milby of Hyde Park.

Corey worked as a truck driver for Universal Truckload.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, water sports, and snowboarding.

In addition to his parents, Corey is survived by his stepfather, Walter Schad; maternal grandparents, Larry and Ann Milby; paternal grandmother, Jessie Fitzgerald; three sisters: Shonna Bozkaya of Poughkeepsie, Loralie Doyle of Staatsburg, and Tysheena Jweinat of Staatsburg; brother, Tyree Schad, of Staatsburg; aunt, Jeanette Spoleti and husband, Joe; uncles: Robert Milby and Mike Fitzgerald; aunt, Linda Fitzgerald; and nieces, Kyla Bozkaya and Madelyn Kip.

Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17 at Sweet’s Funeral Home, Route 9 in Hyde Park. A funeral service will be at 6 p.m., during the calling hours. Rev. Carl Forster will be officiating.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will follow.
