EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Donald F. Emmons, Sr., 87, a resident of Hopewell Junction in East Fishkill since 1965 and formerly of Watertown, Mass., died on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Born in Malden, Mass. on Feb. 26, 1928, he was the son of Allen and Frances Emmons.
He served in the U.S. Army with the 88th Division Blue Devils in post- World War II Italy.
He was employed as a chemical engineer for IBM in East Fishkill for more than 25 years.
He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
On Dec. 27, 1951, in Lowell, Mass., he married Irene Hogan.
His wife died in 2015 and a son, William J. Emmons died in 2004.
He is survived by his son, Donald F. Emmons Jr. of Austin, Texas; his daughter, Kathleen S. Macrini and her husband Russell A. of Cold Spring; his brother, David A. Emmons of Stoneham, Mass.; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Hogan of Lowell, Mass.
Calling hours will be Friday from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
Interment will be in the Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, Mass., on Monday at 1 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
