David R. Peterson, 71, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – David R. Peterson, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Tuesday, March 1. He was 71.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Calvary Chapel of the Hudson Valley. He also worked as a driver for Conway Freight, retiring 3 1/2 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon R. Orser; his daughters, Laurie and her husband, Darren Bisaccia, of Highland; and Janet Peterson, of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Devin Bisaccia; Haley Peterson; Brandon Bisaccia; Rachel Traver; Nicholas Traver; and Lindsay Bisaccia; his great-grandchildren, Daniel and Gillian Bisacci and Jacqueline Bumpus; his sisters, Christine Becker of Owasso; Rebecca Realse of White Plains; Sarah Storr of Mahopac; his brothers, John Mark Peterson of Bethel; and Philip Peterson of Portchester; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were scheduled for Saturday, March 5, from noon-3 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. The funeral service was to be held at 3 p.m., following the visitation. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
