HIGHLAND, N.Y. – Concetta Louise Lapolla Delmar, of Highland, died Friday, Jan. 15 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 86.
She was born Jan. 16, 1929, in Milton. She had a passion for sports and loved the many times she and her husband went out to watch high school, local and national sporting events. Driving to Boulder, Colorado, to watch a men's national softball tournament was a given. She also was an avid New York Yankee fan, along with the Duke men's basketball team.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Sheldon "Tony" Delmar of Highland; her daughter Michelle and husband, Elliot Brainard, of Prattsville; her son James and wife, Francine Delmar, of Highland; grandchildren Stephanie Brainard, Alisa Brainard, Adam and his wife, Kelly Brainard; Corinne and husband, William Welch; Steven Delmar and girlfriend, Shanee Lara; four great-grandchildren Dylan Braswell, Nicholas and Emma Welch, and Bryce Delmar; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and her caregiver, Carol Gibson.
She was predeceased by her parents, Michael J. Sr. and Louise Salzano Lapolla of Milton; brothers Robert J. Lapolla and Michael J. Lapolla Jr.; and her son Steven L. Delmar.
Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 38 Main St. Highland. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
