Charles R. Lemell, Sr., 73, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Charles R. Lemell, Sr., of Poughkeepsie, died n Friday, Dec. 9. He was 73.

Lemell was born May 9, 1943 in Welsh, La. He is the son of the late Fred and the late Tommie (Pollard) Lemell. He served in the United States Air Force for 27 years during the Korean War making the rank of Master Sgt. He was employed by CBS New York aRecording Engineer and also worked at IBM Poughkeepsie as an Electrical Engineer, for Snyder Trucking and he also owned his own trucking Company. He was a graduate of DuVrey University. 

Lemell loved to cook, love all kinds of music, loved to travel and drive and working on his cars.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy L. (Higginson) Lemell; his daughter, Tazsa Richardson and her husband Jarmar; his sons, Rashaan Lemell and his wife Melyssa, CJ Lemell; his grandchildren, Jamar Jr, Jahlil, Rakim, Donte, Anthony and Alicia; and many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 4-8 p.m. at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. The funeral service will be held during the calling hours at 7:30 p.m.
