POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Anna Mae Johnson, of Poughkeepsie, died Sept. 1. She was 85.
She was born Nov. 30, 1930, in Amenia, N.Y. to the late Walter Johnson and Charlotte Caesar. She attended high school and was employed with the Hudson River Psych Center and IBM for 28 years. She loved bingo and was a member of the Ladies Friendship Club.
Survivors include her children, Barbara J. Storts, Randy L. Johnson and Jeanella L. Dunkley; and grandchildren, Merson L. Grey and Aliyah M. Smith.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two children, Denise T. Smith and Cornel Johnson; and siblings, Mary Mitchell, Emma Soares and Winifred Thomas.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc., 39 S. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Phyllis Harris officiating. Entombment will be in the community mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
