Angel R. Acosta, 64, Formerly Of Beacon

BEACON, N.Y. – Angel R. Acosta, a resident of Milford, Pa. since 2007 and formerly of Beacon, died Sunday, June 12. He was 64.

Born Dec.12, 1951, in San German, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Angel R. Acosta and Clara Ocasio.

His family moved to Beacon, where he attended local schools. He was a graduate of Beacon High School. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1971 and was honorably discharged for his service in 1973. For 30 years, he worked for IBM at its East Fishkill facility, obtaining a management position prior to his retirement in 2007.

He enjoyed many hobbies, such as softball, fishing, working on cars and yard work. He took great pride in everything he did. He truly enjoyed being a part of his grandchildren’s lives and volunteered as a coach for their baseball and football teams.

On Feb. 7, 1970, he married Milta Morales at St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon.

He is survived by his wife Milta; his son Angel R. Acosta Jr.; daughter Amy Acosta; grandchildren Kane, Ty, James, Aiden, Trinity, and Aryanna; brother Nelson Acosta of Beacon; aunts and uncles, Margarita Jiminez of North Carolina and Nelson and Anna Ocasio of Beacon; and many cousins and other loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill Inc., 1089 Main St., Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow St., Beacon. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, where the U.S. Army will conduct military honors.
