A band of severe storms that swept through Dutchess early Wednesday evening led to heavy downpours, large hail and a Tornado Warning.

While Daily Voice has received no reports of any tornadoes touching down, nearly 3,000 county residents have been left without power.

In addition to the Pawling area, the Tornado Warning also included southwestern Litchfield County in Connecticut.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Dutchess till 9 p.m. Wednesday.
