A registered sex offender convicted of raping a teenage girl has reported an address change in Dutchess County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 53-year-old Shane Bower, who has moved to an apartment on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Bowers as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Bowers had "deviate sexual intercourse" with a 14-year-old girl in July 1991. He was convicted of third-degree rape in November of that year and sentenced to five years probation. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
