A registered offender convicted of raping a teenage girl has reported an address change in Dutchess County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Thursday to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 28-year-old Sean Scully, who has moved to an apartment on Rose Street in Poughkeepsie.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Scully as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.”
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Scully raped his 13-year-old victim in November 2008 and was convicted of second-degree rape the following year. He was sentenced to two years in state prison. He was arrested by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.
