The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Monday to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 62-year-old Raymond Wright, who has moved to an apartment on Rose Street in Poughkeepsie.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Wright as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Wright had deviate sexual intercourse, hitting his victim with a fist or club in December 1984, and he was convicted of first-degree sodomy the following year. He was sentenced to a term of between 90 months and 15 years in state prison and is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.
