Sex Offender Convicted Of Touching Girl, 6, Reports Move Into Poughkeepsie

A registered sex offender convicted of having sexual contact with a 6-year-old girl has reported a move into Dutchess County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 31-year-old Andre Campbell, who has moved to a residence on Freedom Plains Road in Poughkeepsie.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Campbell as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Campbell had sexual contact with his victim in July last year. He was convicted of forcible touching on Sept. 26 this year and sentenced to a term of one year in local jail. Campbell is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.
