A band of severe storms that swept through Dutchess early Wednesday evening led to heavy downpours, large hail and a Tornado Warning.
Nearly 3,000 county residents were left without power at the height of the storm around 7:30 p.m.
In addition to the Pawling area, the Tornado Warning also included southwestern Litchfield County in Connecticut.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch was in effect until 9 p.m. Wednesday as the storms moved east ahead of a cold front.
