New York State Police in Dutchess County are seeking the public’s assistance as they search for a man who is wanted for robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
Last month, a warrant was issued by the Town of Wappinger Court for 34-year-old Matthew Blizard, who is wanted by state police on charges of second-degree robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon dating back to an investigation that began earlier this year.
According to police, Blizard is wanted by state police and Town of Wappinger Court following a robbery investigation that took place in May. Blizard allegedly used a blunt object as a weapon during an incident where he and another suspect attempted to steal merchandise from an undisclosed store.
The warrant for Blizard’s arrest was issued on May 16. Information regarding his cohort has not been released.
Anyone with information regarding Blizard’s whereabouts can contact state police in Wappinger at (845) 677-7300 or by emailing CrimeTip@troopers.ny.gov. If Blizard is spotted, police caution that he should not be approached and law enforcement officials should be contacted immediately.
