POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- With the clock ticking, the City of Poughkeepsie Common Council is aiming to stop the county takeover of its bus system.
The county is set to take control of the city's bus system on Saturday but at Monday's Common Council meeting, the council voted to authorize Mayor Ron Rolison to fund the bus system until September. The city's bus service will run out of money on Friday.
Rolison has said he will veto the amendment, according to Spectrum News. The common council said they found $200,000 that could be allocated to the bus system, according to Spectrum News. Rolison did not attend the meeting, according to Spectrum News.
