POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The city of Poughkeepsie is seeking a seasoned management professional for the post of city administrator.
The city administrator is the chief administrative officer of the city, which has a 2016 general fund budget of $48 million with a combined budget of $83 million and 338 full-time employees.
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field with a master’s degree preferred and at least five years of municipal management experience as a city manager or administrator or as an assistant city manager or administrator in a city comparable in size and characteristics as Poughkeepsie.
The city administrator is required to live within the city limits within a reasonable time after selection. Salary is negotiable, depending on experience and qualification.
