Rosario Curcio, 71, was charged with the murder of Lana Florio, 56, also of the Town of Poughkeepsie after deputies responded to the club on Salt Point Turnpike Oct. 3, in response to a report of a shooting, said Capt. John Watterson.

Curcio, a former Millbrook pizza restaurant owner, who pleaded guilty in January, was also sentenced to five years of post-release supervision, the Journal said.

When deputies responded to the club, they found Florio shot and in critical condition, Watterson said

She died shortly after police arrived, he added.

An autopsy ruled the cause of death a single gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Curcio, was held after the shooting by people at the game club until police arrived and did not resist arrest, said Watterson.
