The store features numerous styles of extra virgin olive oils, as well as ultra premium (UP labeled) varietal olive oils. They also have gourmet pasta sauces, gourmet spices, hand-thrown pottery, and handmade olive oil-based soaps.
"We carry over 50 different varieties of extra virgin olive oil, infused and fused olive oil, white balsamic vinegar, dark balsamic vinegar, wine vinegar, specialty oils, and specialty vinegars," co-owner Beth Canevari told Daily Voice recently.
One might not think there's a need for an entire store dedicated to olive oil and vinegar, but not so - Canevari said public response has been very positive.
"The response has been excellent," she said. "We've gotten great response from the town. We're very knowledgeable about our product, and we understand how to use our product. So that is really helpful for people who come in and say - 'I'm really not sure what to do with this... can u help with this recipe or whatever.' So with a good understanding of the product, we can really help them branch out and experiment with new things."
The Blue Olive, located at 26 Charles Colman Blvd in Pawling, also hosts seminars and cooking classes to teach people how to use their products.
Blue Olive also has a 'tasting bar' and has occasional tastings.
