The training will take place at the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, 392 Creek Road, Hyde Park, from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29. Pre-registration is required and can be completed here.

Volunteer weather spotters report many varieties of severe weather, including thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail, heavy snow and flooding.

Largely viewed by the Weather Service as "the eyes and ears helping to provide better services," spotters help the Weather Service issue weather statements and warnings and help verify forecasts.
