With snowfall reaching its peak around noon, officials rae warning motorists to avoid roadways if at all possible.
At 12:30 p.m., a crash on eastbound I-84 occurred at Route 9D/Route 52 (Exit 11), causing backups to the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge tolls.
Dutchess County Department of Public Works highway crews continue to work on clearing county roads, but with as many as three additional inches of snow expected, “it is nearly impossible for crews to keep up.”
The DPW has asked that residents avoid travel to allow crews time to safely catch up and clear the roads.
