Former Marist College Player Seriously Injured In Brussels Terror Attacks

Sebastien Bellin, a former member of the men's basketball team at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, suffered serious injuries in Tuesday’s terror attacks in Brussels, according to multiple reports.

The 37-year-old Bellin, a Belgian professional basketball player, underwent surgery late Tuesday for serious leg and hip injuries after the blast sent him 65 feet in the air, according to the New York Daily News.

Bellin, a native of Brazil, played at Marist from 1996 to 1998 before transferring to Oakland University in Michigan.

He is currently playing for the Gent Hawks, located in the Province of East-Flanders, Belgium. The Hawks are in the Belgian Professional Basketball League.
