POUGHKEEPSIE, N. Y. -- An affordable housing development may breathe new life into a vacant area along Main Street in Poughkeepsie that was the site of a fatal fire in 1973, according to The Poughkeepsie Journal.
Developer Kenneth Kearney is proposing a so-called Poughkeepsie Sculpture Park project for the corner of Main and South Bridge streets, reported The Poughkeepsie Journal. It would include a mixture of 70 apartment units and retail stores, said The Poughkeepsie Journal. The area has become an unofficial sculpture area throughout the years following the fire, The Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
