City Dogs, 2653 E Main St, Wappingers Falls, (845) 298-1234
Frank Talk: Owned by Joseph Lofaro and his daughter Christie Lofaro, this eatery has only been open for eight months but already has a devoted following.
"No one has gourmet hot dogs like us," Christie Lofaro told Daily Voice. "We make the toppings fresh, do everything ourselves. No one makes them like we do... and all beef."
Top This: Most popular toppings include chili cheese -- homemade, of course, said Christie -- as well as gourmet dogs -- there are more than a dozen. One that stands out is the " Sancho," a deep fried, bacon, wrapped jalapeno cheddar dog, with charred jalapenos, Mexican Street corn and cortija cheese. Talk about "hot!"
Sides include parmesan rosemary truffle fries, as well as Hell's Kitchen hush puppies.
City Dogs also specializes in fresh sausages, and kielbasa, including lamb, apple and onion sausage, and basil, garlic and sage sausage. They also have brats and turkey dogs.
