She is credited with "fostering a positive image and assisting in achieving fundraising goals," said a program at the awards dinner.
The Athena reception was Nov. 17.
Cukar, previously, served as senior vice president and chief operation officer of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Along with managing the day-to-day operations, Cukar was also responsible for building and maintaining corporate sponsorships.
She was instrumental in guiding the 2010-2011 consolidation with the Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce, as well as the ensuing restructuring.
Cukar first joined the Chamber in 2001, in 2008 she was named Senior Vice President, and in 2009 she added Chief Operating Officer to her duties.
An entrepreneur, Cukar owned and operated several businesses, including Forever Memories Florist in Poughquag, L.C. Construction Co.., Inc in Red Hook, and the Beverly Farm Resort in the Catskill Mountains.
In her personal life, she has served on the Center for Prevention of Child Abuse Executive Board;Half Moon Theatre Board, the WLA Executive Committee; American Cancer Society of the Hudson Valley Region Board, and is a member of the Exchange Club of Southern Dutchess.
Previously, she served on the Gala Committee of the Alzheimer’s Association of the Hudson Valley, the Executive Committee of the American Heart Association of Dutchess County, and has also served on the Gala Committee for St. Martin de Porres and was active in the Millbrook Central School PTO.
