The married pair will be signing copies of their books at an exhibit put on by Arts Mid-Hudson.

The book-signing and reception, set for 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., is being held in conjunction with Arts Mid-Hudson’s current exhibit, “New Yorker Cartoonists of the Hudson Valley.”

Donnelly sold her first cartoon to The New Yorker in 1979 and her work began to appear in the magazine regularly in 1982. She was then the youngest, and one of only three women cartoonists there.

Her cartoons have also appeared in The New York Times, The Harvard Business Review, The Nation, Cosmopolitan and National Lampoon.

While in high school in Bloomfield, N.J., Maslin drew "Our Table," a comic strip that followed his classmates' imaginary exploits. The New Yorker bought one of his ideas in 1977. It was drawn by cartoonist Whitney Darrow Jr. Maslin's own drawings started to appear in the magazine a year later.

He and Donnelly married in 1988 and now live in New York.

Donnelly's and Maslin's recent books include: “Women On Men,” a collection of Donnelly's cartoons and writing which was a finalist for the well-known humor award in 2014, The Thurber Prize, and Maslin's biography, “Peter Arno: The Mad Mad World of The New Yorker's Greatest Cartoonist.”

Donnelly also wrote “When Do They Serve The Wine?, The Folly, Flexibility and Fun of Being a Woman;” “Funny Ladies: The New Yorker's Greatest Women Cartoonists and Their Cartoons,” a history of the women who drew cartoons for the magazine; “Sex and Sensibility: Ten Women Examine the Lunacy of Modern Love in 200 Cartoons” and, with Maslin, “Cartoon Marriage: Adventures in Love and Matrimony with the New Yorker's Cartooning Couple.”

The show, which opened in September, runs through Sunday, Oct. 30. The gallery hours are 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Arts Mid-Hudson is at 696 Dutchess Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, west of Adams Fairacre Farms on Route 44.
