POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Hudson Valley Restaurant Week leaders, along with Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro and other area leaders met Friday at Poughkeepsie's Bluestone Bistro to celebrate the 10th anniversary of HVRW - a two-week celebration of fine food where area restaurants roll out the red carpet - and roll back prices - in an effort to attract new customers.
By lowering prices for the event's two-week period, restaurants hope to giver diners a chance to try new places and new dishes.
For two weeks, through Sunday, March 20, more than 200 restaurants in the mid- and lower-Hudson Valley offer special three-course dinner menus for $29.95. Many also offer 3-course lunches for $20.95. (Plus beverage, tax and tip.)
See the video to hear comments from Molinaro, Janet Crawshaw, HVRW founder and Publisher of The Valley Table, and Bluestone Bistro owner and Head Chef Michael Polasek.
