It started in 1995 for the family of five who live there, and really expanded in 2003 - the same year a family member learned her cancer was terminal - and since then the display has helped to raise more than $160,000 for various charities, primarily aimed at children's charities.

The display - which has been featured on ABC, Fox, CNN, CBS and the Discovery Channel - uses 509,863 lights, as of this year, and requires over 2,500 extension cords - with a total length of over eight miles.

The display takes approximately 1,200 man hours to set up, and includes music (you tune in on your car radio) choreographed (including music from Coldplay, U2 and holiday classics) to fit the display.

Video footage of the display is here. Check back for photos.
