FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Tis the season to spread holiday cheer, and many Dutchess residents are getting in the spirit by decking out their homes with extravagant light displays - many with giant Santas, nativity scenes, Rudolf and his Reindeer, elves and so much more.
For most, the ritual has become a labor of love - started when the kids were small, but then continued and transformed into a beloved tradition no one wants to see end.
Daily Voice found several striking displays around the Kip Drive neighborhood. Jack Rampert had one of the area's more impressive scenes, complete with giant inflatable Santa and Reindeer.
"It takes about six or seven hours to put together," Rampert said. "It started in 2003 with just a few lights, and grew from there. When the kids were little, they liked it and helped. Now they're all grown and I get no help," he laughed.
"But it's something I love doing," Rampert added. "Everyone seems to enjoy it."
