The restaurant - with locations in both towns - is owned and operated by Dutchess brothers Ken, Shay and Gazmend Berisha, and is celebrating 20 years in business.

The brothers owned Beacon Pizza from 1991 to 1996, before debuting Brother's Trattoria in 1998.

"We're very proud of the restaurants, we treat our customers like family," Ken Berisha told Daily Voice. "We make sure they all leave happy, we serve the best food, and we treat our customers like kings - or queens."

The restaurants feature 'casual fine dining,' with a bar room, and specialize in Northern Italian cuisine, even winning Hudson Valley Magazine's top prize in 2016 for 'Best Northern Italian Cuisine.'

The restaurants feature fresh fish from the Hunts Point Fish Market, and use seasonal local farm products.

"People say we're like a restaurant in New York City," Berisha said. "People tell us we're one of the best."

Berisha recommends reservations on weekends.

Brother's Trattoria is located at 465 Main Street in Beacon, and at 2540 Town Plaza, Rt. 55, in Poughquag. Their website can be viewed here.
