Dave's E Cig Shop is celebrating its Grand Opening at its second location with a store on Rt. 9 in Wappingers Falls.
"There's no tobacco here," store Manager Scott Martin told Daily Voice. "Eighty percent of the people who come in are looking to replace cigarettes, to stop smoking. It's a safer alternative, less toxins, less chemicals, and no smoke inhalation."
And customers are responding.
"It's so mainstream now that people are familiar with it," Martin said. "As people ween off of cigarettes, they find flavors they like."
The store specializes in the ever-expanding selection of flavors - the juices - that earn repeat customers, and have some traveling great distances to find flavors at Dave's.
We're talking citrus flavors, Red Velvet Cake, Strawberry Shortcake, Caramel Coffee, Glazed Donuts, and a popular concoction dubbed 'Blue Mang,' combining blueberry and mango.
"A lot of people try vaping, then they don't even want to go back to cigarettes because they taste so bad," Martin said.
