Poughkeepsie's Bardavon Announces Meat Loaf, Paula Poundstone Appearances

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Three shows are coming to Dutchess County, and tickets are on sale now.

  • Meat Loaf -- Monday, March 21, 8 p.m. -- UPAC in Kingston

Meat Loaf is an iconic multiplatinum musician, best known for the "Bat Out of Hell" trilogy: "Bat Out of Hell," "Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell" and "Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose." He has sold more than 43 million CDs and has acted in over 50 TV shows and films, including "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and "Fight Club."

This is a rare chance to see his very theatrical full band show in an intimate theater setting. Tickets range from $64 to $119.

  • Boz Scaggs -- Sunday, April 17, 7 p.m. -- UPAC in Kingston (co-presented with Radio Woodstock)

Rock and soul man Boz Scaggs carved a persona in the mid-'70s as a slick, smooth rhythm and blues/soul singer on the strength of his multiplatinum album, "Silk Degrees." Over his career, he has collaborated with artists ranging from Steve Miller and Duane Allman to Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald. His career has spanned the history of American soul, and he remains one of the masters of American music. Tickets range from $39 to $99.

  • Paula Poundstone -- Friday, June 24, 8 p.m. -- Bardavon in Poughkeepsie

Paula Poundstone is recognized as one of Comedy Central's 100 greatest stand-ups of all time. She has won the American Comedy Award for Best Female Standup Comic, and in 2010, she was one of a select group voted into the Comedy Hall of Fame. She is a regular panelist on NPR’s popular news quiz show, "Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me." Tickets range from $37 to $57, with a very limited VIP meet-and-greet available at $77.
