The Memory Cafe is an event scheduled at The Coyote Grill at 2 p.m. on July 28.
The two-hour dining event is designed to allow people with forms of dementia and their caregivers to interact socially over family-sized appetizers while listening to the music of singer/songwriter Denise Hunt.
Hunt, who will be performing live, plays an edgy style of folk music utilizing the ukulele and guitar.
"I am so grateful and honored to be providing the music for this amazing event," she said. "It is a privilege to play music for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and their hardworking, dedicated caregivers."
Preregistration for the Memory Cafe is required for anyone planning to attend.
To register, call Rachel Smith or Elizabeth Johnson at 1-800-272-3900. Those with specific song requests can make them while registering.
The Coyote Grill is located at 2629 South Road. The Memory Cafe is a joint effort by the restaurant and the Alzheimer's Association. It is supported, in part, by a grant from the New York State Department of Health.
