WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls held its annual Maple Syrup Day on Sunday.
Participants were able to take part in different steps of the process -- from tapping the trees, to collecting the sap and then boiling it down to syrup.
They also explored Native American methods used to create maple sugar.
In addition, visitors learned about wooden containers, early tapping methods, fire by friction and rock boiling sap.
