POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Hudson River Housing's annual "Evening by the Hudson" fundraiser will be held on May 5 at the Locust Grove Estate in Poughkeepsie.
This year’s gala is themed in celebration of “Cinco de Mayo,” and will include live mariachi band performances, south-of-the-border hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, and a silent auction.
In addition, the event will include the presentation of the agency’s 2016 Community Builder Awards. The Community Builder Award recognizes select members of the community who have demonstrated a significant commitment to strengthening lives and communities.
Honorees of the 2016 awards are Diane and Feza Oktay of North River Roasters, City of Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison, and TD Bank.
The agency’s work covers a broad spectrum of programs, including housing and services for the homeless, homebuyer education, veteran services, and community building.
“Our work provides important safety-net services for the most vulnerable in our community, but we also work towards addressing the root causes of poverty and inequity,” said Executive Director Sean Robin. “Current projects like the redevelopment of the historic Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory combine our objectives of providing quality housing, strengthening Main Street, and creating lasting economic opportunity for residents.”
Tickets are available on the agency’s website at www.hudsonriverhousing.org . For more information, contact 845-454-5176 ext. 100.
