To help tame those fears, the Beacon Hebrew Alliance will present guest teacher Rabbi Regina Sandler-Phillips at 6:30 p.m. Friday as she speaks about the sacred Jewish practices of levayah (accompanying) that bring together spirituality, sustainability and social justice.

This teaching will be preceded by a pot-luck dinner and followed by the Bina Kirtan Shabbat service.

Sandler-Phillips, is the executive director of Ways of Peace Community Resources in Brooklyn. As the founding chair of a 70-volunteer sacred fellowship, her published resources have guided Jewish caring community development across the country and around the world.

She will also be teaching on Saturday, March 12. The event will take place at 331 Verplank Ave.
